Due to advancements in AI, fraudulent scams are becoming harder to spot.

However, there are often signs of fraud or deepfakes if you know what to look for.

Technical clues to spotting deepfakes… You must listen carefully.

  • Unnatural voice quality

  • Odd inflections and phrasing

  • Inconsistencies in background noise

Other clues to spotting deepfakes:

  • Urgency and emotional pressure—e.g., you must, or you will be arrested.

  • Unusual requests—e.g., meet at the bank.

  • Out-of-the-blue contact—e.g., we are doing a favor, must do this immediately.
